TV presenter Bridget Maasland is experiencing the early signs of perimenopause. "I suddenly had a completely different body," she shares.
In Grazia magazine, she opens up about this pre-menopausal stage, calling it a taboo topic: "It's not sexy—in nature, you're just written off."

Bridget first noticed her body's changes. "Alarm bells rang. But the deepest impact was mental—I couldn't process things anymore, and it started wearing me down," she explains.
Still, she's optimistic: "Women create their greatest masterpieces after menopause. That's a beautiful thought. The best is yet to come."
Sandra van Leeuwen, Santé's menopause expert, agrees: "The idea that you no longer count during perimenopause—that you can't switch careers or start studying—is nonsense. Women now live to 84 on average, so you're only halfway through life. Take stock and launch into the next chapter with positive energy!"
