COVID-19 Safety Ranking: Study Names Spain Europe's Least Secure Country

Investment firm Deep Knowledge Group has analyzed COVID-19 data, ranking Spain as Europe's least safe country. Italy tops the global list for highest risk.

The U.S. bears the heaviest burden with around 700,000 cases and nearly 35,000 deaths. Yet, Deep Knowledge Group's study, released April 12, 2020, places Spain last in safety rankings among 33 countries. Spain reports over 190,000 cases and about 20,000 deaths, securing a spot in the top three most affected.

Italy ranks second-to-last, with the UK (30th), France (26th), and Sweden (24th) also lagging. Germany leads Europe, thanks to its rapid response, extensive testing, and early detection, followed by Switzerland and Austria.
