Stress and Money Worries: Why 80% of Dutch People Lose Sleep

Sleepless nights drag on as dawn approaches, triggering panic: "I must sleep—I have a demanding day tomorrow."

Eight in ten Dutch adults (80%) occasionally lie awake at night, primarily due to stress (41%) or financial concerns (32%). Four in ten experience persistent sleep issues regularly or always. Nearly a quarter feel usually tired, with 11% very tired, while 45% typically feel rested. Women report fatigue more often (43%) than men, as do younger adults (52%) compared to those over 50 (25%).

Men Drift Off Post-Sex, Women Disturbed by Snoring
Men often nod off after intimacy, but 18% of women stay awake due to their partner's snoring. Top remedies include airing out the room, sticking to a routine, or reading. Women favor warm baths; men lean toward a nightcap, exercise, or sex. Those with chronic issues more frequently turn to sleeping pills.

Irritability, Risky Roads: The Real Toll of Sleep Loss
A staggering 97% of Dutch recognize insomnia's fallout—irritability, impaired focus, health woes, and even depressive moods among frequent sufferers. Most (81%) view sleep problems as serious, and 55% see chronic poor sleepers as road hazards.
