Belgium Reports First Swine Flu Fatality: Woman in Her 30s from Turnhout Passes Away

Swine flu has claimed its first victim in Belgium, our southern neighbor.

A woman around 30 years old from Turnhout, near Antwerp, experienced initial symptoms about a week and a half ago. Her condition rapidly worsened with double viral pneumonia, and she passed away today.

In total, 126 people in Belgium are confirmed infected with swine flu, officially New Influenza A (H1N1). The Netherlands reports 364 cases.
