An epidemic is when more than 50 in 100,000 inhabitants have flu-like symptoms. In the Netherlands there are now 76 out of 100,000 † Incidentally, the number of flu cases in the Netherlands is increasing in almost all regions.
The number of flu cases is also rising in Belgium and in other neighboring countries.
