Strong Turnout for Swine Flu Vaccinations: 60-80% on Opening Day

Approximately 60 to 80 percent of those invited have received their swine flu vaccination.

On the first swine flu vaccination day, GGD sites saw high demand. About 60 to 80 percent of invitees got their shots, with turnout reaching a peak of 85 percent in central Netherlands.

In Amsterdam, participation was lowest at 55 percent, yet still significant.

Overall, more than a million people received invitations, including 800,000 children aged six months to five years. The other 200,000 were for individuals frequently exposed to at-risk groups.

Additional vaccination sessions are scheduled for the coming days, with the GGD expecting turnout to rise further.
