New Research: Apples, Peaches, and Nectarines Are Even Healthier Than We Thought

Eating your daily serving of fruit is even more crucial for health than previously believed, according to recent research led by Professor Dr. Paul Kroon.

His team analyzed apples, peaches, and nectarines, uncovering that these fruits contain five times more polyphenols than earlier estimates suggested. Gut bacteria transform these polyphenols into beneficial compounds that boost antioxidant activity.

These substances play a vital role in maintaining health by preventing inflammation and malignant tumors. They also shield cells from free radical damage and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Additionally, the study highlights how polyphenols significantly lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease.
