Virologist Warns: Anti-Swine Flu Vaccine Campaign Puts Lives at Risk

Virologist Roel Coutinho, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Control at RIVM, has strongly criticized journalist Désirée Röver's campaign against swine flu vaccination as dangerous and irresponsible.

In De Telegraaf last Saturday, Coutinho cautioned: "Even if only a few laymen pick it up and do not get vaccinated, it can cost lives." He emphasized the peril of reaching millions online and discouraging precautions.

Röver claims the swine flu was lab-created. Coutinho refutes this: "This flu really comes from pigs."

She also alleges vaccines lack sufficient testing time. Coutinho counters: "The best-before date is set by manufacturers after extensive testing. Claims of contaminants are complete nonsense."
