Netherlands Secures Enough Swine Flu Vaccines for Everyone by October or November

A vaccine against swine flu (also known as Mexican flu) will be available to every resident in the Netherlands starting October or November. Health Minister Ab Klink shared this update during an appearance on the radio program Tros Kamerbreed.

Earlier reports had suggested it would take another year to produce enough vaccines. In the second half of August, all Dutch households will receive informational folders covering the flu, standard treatments, and diagnostic options.

Minister Klink described the flu as mild, with no signs of it turning aggressive. However, he emphasized that the vaccine provides maximum protection should the situation change.
