Dutch against fat tax

The Dutch like to make their own choices. A majority is against the introduction of legal measures to enforce a healthy lifestyle. This is apparent from an online study by Porter Novelli and BrainJuicer.

Six hundred consumers aged 18 to 65 took part in the study. The majority thinks that everyone's health is their own responsibility

Taking legal action such as paying more tax among overweight people, the vast majority (69 percent) strongly disagree. About ad restrictions for unhealthy food opinions are divided. Half of the Dutch are in favor of a legal restriction on advertising unhealthy food, while a quarter are in doubt and another quarter are against this.

Compared to 2007 (83 percent), the outcome of this year (88 provent) has remained virtually the same.
