This year, CES took place online amid the ongoing health crisis. South Korean startup Bitsensing showcased its groundbreaking mini-H radar—the smallest home automation radar on the market.
Bitsensing, a specialist in radar imaging technology, introduced the mini-H (H for "Healthcare") at CES 2021. This compact radar covers a 120° angle and serves as a discreet home automation device for health monitoring. The company emphasizes its non-intrusive design.
"At Bitsensing, we are committed to integrating these groundbreaking radar technologies to help build smart lives and smart cities that ultimately improve the quality of life for all," company officials stated, as reported by Taiwan News on January 13, 2021.
Operating at high-resolution 60 GHz, the mini-H mounts easily on walls without wires. It connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to a dedicated app, detecting presence, movement, and falls. It also measures breathing rate and pulse without cameras or wearables. The device can even identify sleep apnea (demo video below).
For comparison, Withings' ScanWatch is the only smartwatch capable of similar sleep apnea detection.

As an active technology, mini-H functions in any light, day or night, penetrating clothing and bedsheets. It's resilient in humid environments. The app provides a comprehensive health dashboard, full customization, and ongoing software updates for reliable, long-term use.
