10 tips against holiday kilos

We really want to have a good time on vacation and good food is part of that. Whether it's an all-inclusive offer, lavish buffets, delicious cocktails at the beach bar or the local delicacies at the market – many of us bring a few extra pounds home with us. Here are ten tips on how to stay slim during your vacation:

1. Water instead of soda
Avoid soft drinks:Cola and Co. contain a lot of sugar and therefore have a high calorie content. But if you don't just want to drink bland water and treat yourself to a flavored thirst-quencher, you can flavor the water with a squeeze of lemon juice or a slice of lemon. Heavy and fatty meals are not only calorie bombs, they are also heavy on the stomach. Especially in the Mediterranean, many hotels and restaurants offer light dishes such as fish and pasta that are not only delicious, but also filling and a good alternative to pizza and cream sauces. Fruit ice cream is also fresh, tastes like summer and at the same time is lower in calories than ice cream.

4. Avoid mountains of food at buffets
The rich buffet, which is beautifully prepared at the same time, is a real temptation, because delicious cakes and other delicacies are often served here in the morning. The selection is usually very large and the eyes are often even larger than the stomach. If you take a small plate instead of a large plate at the buffet, you avoid oversized portions.
