Well! Your partner listens to you less often than you think

You say something and you get a somewhat absent answer. Did he hear you now or not? Is he pretending or is there really something wrong with his ears?

Research shows that we think our partner has selective hearing when it comes to the things you say. No fewer than seven in ten think their partner only hears half of what you are saying.

Selective hearing

Men in particular have selective hearing, women are only slightly less affected by it. For example, men choose not to listen 7 times a week, and women choose not to listen 6 times a week.

No reluctance

Yet this need not be unwillingness. It is of course also possible that there is something wrong with the hearing. More than half of the 2,000 respondents were concerned that their partner cannot hear well.

For example, six in ten say that their partner watches television or listens to the radio with the volume set very high. Four in ten say their partner complains of hearing loss during social events, such as parties and birthdays.
