Struggling with Morning Grumpiness? Insights from a Dutch Study

Nearly half of Dutch adults experience morning grumpiness, according to a Synovate study commissioned by Hero FruitOntbijt among over 1,000 respondents.

Of those surveyed, 48% admitted to sometimes getting out of bed on the wrong foot. Interestingly, their partners reported this figure rising to 54%. Common symptoms include being grumpy, grumbling, looking sullen, and being unresponsive.

Notably, most Dutch people with a morning mood don't tie it to a specific day of the week. Among those who do, Monday is mentioned most often (by 2 out of 10 respondents).

Breakfast
Jochem de Boer, Marketing Manager at Hero, advises against lingering in bed or skipping breakfast. Eating breakfast delivers the right nutrients and ensures a steady distribution of energy throughout the day. Without adequate fuel, your mood can easily suffer.

The Test
Hero Fruit Breakfast has launched a Morning Mood Test. This week, test your friends on Hyves with stand-up comedian Howard Komproe. Visit hyves.nl/actie/wakkerenvrolijk to get started.
