Coffee and tea reign supreme as the most popular drinks in the Netherlands, according to longstanding consumption trends backed by industry research.
The average Dutch person enjoys about four to five cups of coffee and tea a day. This insight comes from data by the Dutch Association of Soft Drinks, Waters, Juices (FWS).
Dutch hydration habits are robust: in addition to coffee and tea, the average intake reaches 1.7 liters per person per day. Excluding alcohol, this drops slightly to 1.5 liters.
Beyond hot beverages, water plays a key role, with Dutch consumers drinking more than two glasses a day (precisely 413 ml). Notably, tap water is the go-to choice for 81% across all age groups.
