Production Club, a U.S.-based event production firm specializing in festivals and concerts, has unveiled the Micrashell suit—an innovative personal protective equipment (PPE) designed to reconcile nightlife with COVID-19 precautions.
Drawing inspiration from cyberpunk aesthetics, the Micrashell suit looks like it's from a dystopian sci-fi film, as seen in its demo video. Yet, it's a functional PPE tailored for nightlife, enabling users to dance, drink, and vape while minimizing COVID-19 exposure. For Production Club, hit hard by pandemic cancellations, this represents a pathway to safely restarting events.
The suit challenges traditional social distancing by incorporating a ventilated soft plastic helmet, tear-resistant fabric, and an N95-equivalent filtration system. It allows drinking and vaping without removal, while covering the body, arms, and hands to reduce surface contact risks.

Additional features include built-in speakers, a forearm smartphone pocket, shoulder-mounted camera connectivity for photos, and customizable LED lights. Currently a prototype, it awaits health authority validation and certification. Production Club continues refining materials to balance efficacy and cost, with no pricing announced yet.
