Plenty of people ponder, "What to do on Sunday?" Not in our house! Sunday is my absolute favorite day of the week—even on the eve of Monday 😉. It's our cherished time to unwind and recharge. I'm a firm believer in lazy Sundays! We do have occasional plans like birthdays, dinners, or family visits—cozy gatherings that never start early or drag late.

Sunday holds two sacred rituals for me: morning and evening. Nothing beats easing into the day quietly. We sleep until around 9:00 a.m. (kids are already up), then enjoy a leisurely family breakfast together—after walking the dog, of course. Sometimes we take a long stroll first and turn it into brunch.
Afterward, I love pottering around the house: tackling small chores, tidying up, maybe a bit of light work. If we have plans, they're always afternoon slots. Feeling that Sunday slump? We head to the forest or beach for fresh air and invigoration.
Sunday evening, when free, feels even more special. Late afternoon, we pop on a kids' movie, whip up something simple and delicious like soup, and eat in front of the TV. It's pure lazy Sunday bliss—minimal effort, maximum family joy.

And then... our "holy" couple time begins 😉. Kids head to bed promptly—we rush them through showers (a nightly routine) and tuck them in on schedule. Lotte drifts off quickly, but Luc? Not at 7:30 p.m.—he's wired! Instead, post-shower, he heads upstairs to unwind with TV. We've intentionally built this into his routine, and here's why...
That's our cue for the evening—a moment we both crave on lazy Sundays.
Weekdays are hectic: work, school, sports, studies. Getting everyone to bed on time is an achievement. Friday and Saturday? Kids stretch evenings since no school looms—they own those nights.
But Sunday evenings from 8:00 p.m. are ours. Living room, TV, fireplace—all reclaimed. Bliss!
Candles lit, healthy snacks like cheese with pickle, rolled raw ham, or fresh eel from the fishmonger (#nomnom). Skip wine, tea, or water—treat ourselves to Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. Low-cal, utterly delicious.
Cheers, recap the week, plan ahead: schedules, needs, logistics. Uninterrupted structure for the days to come.
Cozied by the fire, shoes off, we sink into the couch for Netflix—lately Sons of Anarchy's Jax and crew (binge complete), now HS13. My ultimate lazy Sunday, dog's included 😉.
Even if brief—early bedtime is key for a fresh week.
