With 12 years in the fashion industry under her belt, Suzan Hauwert (33) turned her passion into reality by launching Susy Cyclewear—stylish, high-quality cycling apparel designed for active women.
Why cycling clothing?
'When I started cycling, I quickly noticed the lack of beautiful options for women. Most pieces were too masculine, outdated, or ill-fitting. It could be so much better—just like yoga or running gear, you want to look good on the bike. I'd dreamed of my own label for years, and suddenly it hit me: this is the perfect opportunity.'
How did you make it happen?
'I validated the demand first by interviewing women cyclists and surveying at events. The excitement was infectious and gave me the confidence to dive in. My experience as a product and account manager, overseeing quality control in factories, was invaluable. I leveraged my network of trusted fabric suppliers and my go-to production facility in Poland.'
