This is apparent from a study in which 390 overweight people were examined. People who lost at least 5 percent of their body weight within 6 months slept on average 22 minutes more than before they lost weight.

Sleep better
The quality of sleep also increased, perhaps that factor also improves mood? Among participants who had lost less weight, the effect was not noticeable. They only slept 1 minute extra per night.
