Every year, countless women resolve to cut out sweets, yet a British study reveals most falter within the first month due to ingrained snacking habits.
This survey of 2,000 women, commissioned by a leading bakery and confectionery company, found the average woman consumes 1,092 high-fat or high-sugar snacks per year. That's in addition to 129 packets of cookies, 127 chocolate bars, 77 cakes, and 133 biscuits.
How many snacks daily?
One in seven women admits to five or more sweet or salty snacks each day. Over half (54%) eat unhealthy treats at least two to three times daily.
The desire to quit is strong…
More than half the respondents want to stop sweets altogether. Common triggers include:
– Mid-morning between breakfast and lunch;
– Lounging on the couch at home;
– At the office.
Many also battle binge eating episodes.
