Moderate Drinkers Report Higher Happiness, Erasmus University Study Finds

Drink responsibly. According to the Happiness Indicator study from Erasmus University Rotterdam, occasional drinkers enjoy greater happiness than those who abstain from alcohol entirely.

The research reveals that participants consuming two or more glasses of alcohol one to two days a week average a happiness score of 8, while abstainers score 7.5.

However, drinking three or more days a week harms happiness significantly. These individuals report feeling visibly unhappier, with scores at a moderate 6.6. Long-term comparisons between moderate drinkers and abstainers warrant further study.
