Everyone experiences dry, calloused, or cracked feet at some point. Even with care, neglect can worsen the issue.
That's why an effective, low-cost treatment plan is essential for restoring your feet's health.

As a podiatrist's advice has shown me over several winters, consistent care keeps feet beautiful, hydrated, and pain-free. Daily pampering prevents cracks and calluses that become unsightly and uncomfortable, especially in dry winter months.
Before booking a professional pedicure, I handle it myself with proven methods.
Invest in a quality pumice stone—it's inexpensive and lasts for years. In the shower, wet the stone and gently rub your feet in circular motions, focusing on heels and rough spots. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry softly.
Key: Prioritize hydration over aggressive scrubbing to avoid irritation.
Follow with an oil-based exfoliant (sweet almond, olive oil, or shea butter works well), ideal year-round. My homemade scrub recipe:
- 2 tablespoons coarse salt (€0.18)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (€0.30)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (€0.45)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (€0.04)
Total cost: Less than €1!
For deeper treatment, apply a mask overnight: Soften shea butter and slather on feet, then wear soft socks.
Alternatively, use this nourishing balm:
- 4 tablespoons argan or olive oil (€0.15–€1.50)
- 1 tablespoon honey (€0.20)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice or essential oil drop (€0.45)
Total: Around €2!
Massage in gently, leave on for an hour or overnight, then rinse with lukewarm water. It also works wonders on knees, elbows, and hands.
Throughout the year, apply a dedicated foot cream daily. Long-term hydration outperforms other treatments—it's transformed my routine.
