Fair Trade Restaurant Week

Max Havelaar and Pure Foundation! eating out, together we organize the first Fairtrade Restaurant Week from 1 to 7 November.

Fairtrade promotes sustainable development in international trade, especially in exports from poor to rich Western countries. Fairtrade Products are recognizable by the Max Havelaar quality mark and are sold almost everywhere these days.

In the hospitality industry, however, we see the quality mark very little. Try Max Havelaar . with the Fairtrade Restaurant Week and Pure! eating out to encourage this use. Across the country, restaurants are participating with the action. Each restaurant is free to put together their own menu, as long as each dish contains at least one fair trade ingredient has been processed.
