Fully tattooed, earless, and now noseless, French artist Anthony Loffredo—known as Black Alien—continues his radical body modification journey. Who is the man turning his physique into living art?
Anthony Loffredo, a 32-year-old from Montpellier, France, revealed his latest transformation—a nose ablation—on Instagram in late September 2020 (see image below). The procedure was performed in Barcelona, Spain, where he now lives, as Spanish law permits such body modifications, unlike in France.
In a candid Midi Libre interview on September 16, 2020, Loffredo shared his profound satisfaction: "I have the chance to live the life I want, to do what I want physically. It's absolute freedom; there's no one stopping me. I am very happy; I do what I want with my body."
Loffredo's Instagram, the black alien project, boasts over 140,000 followers, drawn to his extreme modifications. These include a split tongue, subdermal silicone implants, ink in the whites of his eyes, and full-body tattoos, many in the bold Brutal tattoo style, especially on his arms.
Daily life brings mixed reactions, but Loffredo remains content. His transformations are just 18% complete, with more planned. Such modifications are increasingly common; some, like a Spanish artist in 2019, even implant tech like bat-inspired echolocation sonar devices in their cheeks, blurring lines between human and cyborg.
