A study of 375 adults who successfully maintained weight loss through moderate-to-high-intensity exercise highlights a crucial factor: consistency in daily workout timing. Most participants exercised at the same time each day, with early morning being the most common slot. Research published in Obesity also linked this consistency—whether morning, afternoon, or evening—to higher overall physical activity levels.

“Our findings warrant future experimental research to determine whether promoting consistency in the time of day for planned, structured physical activity can help individuals achieve and sustain higher activity levels,” said the researcher. “It will also be important to determine if a specific time of day offers greater benefits for those with low baseline activity to build effective habits.”
