I Hate Exercise – But FIT30's 30-Minute Workouts Changed Everything: My Honest Review

I’ll be honest from the start: good intentions aren't always my strong suit. But this January, I finally recommitted to the gym. As a workaholic mom, I've hidden behind endless excuses—deadlines, appointments, bad weather, kids—to avoid exercise. Deep down, I dread it. This time, though, I ditched the excuses and tried FIT30 workouts. After years of failed attempts, I can genuinely recommend it. I'll share my sports history, failures, and real progress with FIT30.

I hate sports

Let's be real: I hate exercise. Not mildly—intensely. You might wonder why when others love it. Maybe you're like me and get it completely. I procrastinate for days on workouts, while enthusiasts complain about missing their runs.

A few reasons I dread it:

  • It leaves you exhausted
  • It demands too much time
  • You can't half-ass it—it's all or nothing
  • You sweat profusely
  • And that sweat smells

What sports have I tried?

Don't get me wrong—I've tried plenty. Here's my 'tried and quit' list from years of experience.

  • Horse riding (the one I truly enjoyed)
  • Tennis
  • Running (quit due to injuries—read why running often leads to problems here)
  • Gymnastics (years ago)
  • Mother-daughter yoga (short-lived; my daughter lost interest)
  • Random home workouts

Horse riding

Fantastic in theory. I owned two horses for years. Some say it's not 'real' exercise, but I disagree—it demands skill and progress. Recreational rides aren't enough; serious training means 5x weekly, which is time-intensive. Now, post-hernia, I can't dismount without help, and my last horses were too spirited. No more risks. Still, it uniquely clears my mind—focusing solely on the horse and ride.

Tennis

Fun sport, but not for me. Winter motivation fails, and it depends on a partner. If they're off, your workout suffers—or you drag through when unmotivated.

Running

I fell for the hype until last year. Enjoyable on sunny days for the first 1-2 km. I built up to 13.5 km runs. Impressive—until knee pain and shin splints hit. Rehab didn't stick; pain returned.

Gymnastics

As a kid, fine. As an adult? No way. I tried a cartwheel for my daughter last summer—embarrassing fail. Glad no audience.

Mother-daughter Yoga

Seemed perfect: bonding while learning body awareness. But scheduling with kids was chaos—we arrived stressed. My daughter quit; going solo felt odd. Shame, as yoga offers relaxation and unique strength via holds and balance. Check Rosa's blog on yoga benefits. Many types exist—see this yoga guide for options.

Working out at home: A viable option?

I tried home workouts for months—a solid alternative for busy parents. We've covered home exercise benefits before, ideal when evenings exhaust you.

Disadvantages of working out at home

Two big ones: motivation (toughest for sports haters) and injury risk without guidance. Weights or intense programs like Insanity require form knowledge.

Why did I start exercising again?

Housework isn't cutting it, despite benefits for body and mind (tidy house, tidy head). See tips for a tidy home.

I'm noticing age-related wear, especially sedentary work worsening my hernia history. Time to strengthen up.

FIT30 is my solution

Here's why FIT30 works for me, based on my experience.

What is FIT30?

Not just any challenge—FIT30 is trainer-guided 30-minute circuit training hitting all muscle groups efficiently.

How does FIT30 work?

In a dedicated room with 15 machines (rotating), drop in anytime. A 1-minute timer: 45 seconds work, 15 seconds transition. Complete the circuit twice in 30 minutes—minimal rest.

Devices use air pressure

Machines adjust resistance via air pressure—no manual weights. Benefits:

  • Faster movements increase resistance automatically.
  • Quick setup: sit, stand, or lie—and go.

My FIT30 experience

After sessions, I feel worked—muscle fatigue, but satisfied. Not 'dead tired.' I can ramp up speed for progression. Positive so far; it might ease my exercise aversion.

The 3 biggest benefits of FIT30 (perfect if you hate sports)

Benefit 1

Workouts fly by. Others drag after 30 minutes—I clock-watch and sour. FIT30 ends before mental resistance kicks in.

Benefit 2

Ladies-only circuit here—no chit-chat. Timer-driven intensity keeps everyone focused.

Benefit 3

Post-workout coffee and chocolate taste divine. Centrally located, I'm home in an hour via bike. Local? Check Personal Flow for FIT30, Pilates, yoga, Zumba.
