On Tuesday evening, March 23, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Hugo de Jonge addressed the nation in a televised press conference on current and future coronavirus measures. Regrettably, no positive changes were announced.
Infections and hospitalizations remain high, prompting Rutte and de Jonge to confirm that all current restrictions will stay in place at least until Tuesday, April 20. The curfew continues, shifting from Wednesday, March 31, to 10 p.m. (from 9 p.m. previously) until 4:30 a.m., accounting for longer evening daylight.
The negative travel advice persists as May holidays approach—no non-essential trips abroad until May 15.
Self-tests will soon be rolled out in schools, enabling teachers and students to test safely before attending. Pilot programs for events will allow entry for those with negative results.
Vaccination efforts are underway, with all willing adults expected to receive their doses by July.
