Foodwatch's annual review of food products has once again spotlighted misleading packaging claims, awarding its infamous Golden Wind Egg—the symbol of deception—to one standout offender.
De Kleine Keuken's organic chocolate spread for babies took first place as the most misleading product of 2019. Marketed as 'good for your little one,' it contains a staggering 69% sugar and fat. The Netherlands Nutrition Centre advises against it for infants, and Foodwatch labels it outright junk food for babies.

In second place: Albert Heijn's 'seasonal vegetables,' which included asparagus from Peru and green beans from Egypt—hardly seasonal local produce.
Albert Heijn claimed third for its goat cheese spread, revealed to be primarily cow's milk cheese.
In 2018, Coca-Cola's 'Smartwater' earned the award, dismissed by Foodwatch as nothing more than overpriced regular water.
