Barbecue is getting healthier

But it still remains a man's business.

Healthy food
Now that the weather is getting better, the barbecue is being turned on more and more often. However, the days of large pieces of meat are over; nowadays we put more and more healthy and varied food on the grill. However, barbecuing itself still appears to be a men's business, although 50% of the women help with the preparations.

Cosy
More than a third of the Dutch have started barbecuing more often in the last two years. We do this twice a month on average. The main reason is because it is perceived as cozy; but 6% like the grilling itself the most.

Lean meats
42% of the Dutch say they would barbecue more often if the barbecue did not have to be cleaned afterwards. Vegetables and lean meats are rising in this way of preparing food. Only 5% has ever baked pizza this way.
