Drinking coffee can lead to a longer lifespan

Here's another reason to start the day with a cup of coffee:Scientists have found that people who drink coffee seem to live longer. Drinking coffee was associated with a lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, respiratory problems and kidney disease. People who consumed one cup of coffee a day were 12 percent less likely to die compared to those who didn't drink coffee. This association was even stronger for those who drank 2-3 cups a day — 18 percent less likely to die. Less mortality was present regardless of whether people drank regular or decaf coffee, suggesting that the association is not tied to caffeine. The ongoing study has surveyed more than 215,000 participants, and sees itself as the most ethnically diverse study of lifestyle risk factors that can lead to cancer.
