Creative with cucumber seems boring

The cucumber:it seems a bit of a boring vegetable. Or fruit, we're not even quite sure about that yet. But boring? The content of cucumber is a bit boring:it actually mainly contains water. But also vitamin C, and nice and few calories, making it a very healthy snack again. For dieting moms, but also for their kids. Nice to treat at school, but also nice to get creative at home. And there aren't many children who don't like cucumbers, which is also a plus.

If you give free rein to your creativity, you can make a very nice snack from a cucumber. Which the kids can enjoy while you're still busy. As a snack, for example, or for lunch. You can also put them to work yourself. How nice is it to make the following treats together? These snacks can be made anywhere and you don't even have to be culinary.

1. Not in the mood for fish? Make a whale out of cucumber!

First, a whale is not a fish. It's a mammal. Second, this whale is made from cucumber! The carving doesn't require much practice at all, although the fins can be a bit tricky. But hey, you can of course just plug it in separately. Easy peasy, that creative with cucumber. Decorate your cucumber whale with some wild waves. For example, grated carrot and cheese. A smashing party on a plate, and a healthy snack too.

2. A cactus for during an irritable mood

In an irritable mood? Give in to your gut feeling with this cucumber long! Fortunately, this cactus cucumber snack is absolutely mood-enhancing. Cut a sandwich in the shape of a flower pot, and decorate your plate with whatever you like. As long as it stays a little healthy 😉 . Do you spontaneously feel good again?

3. A cucumber train

This cucumber train makes you laugh, doesn't it? A great example of being creative with cucumber! However, if you look closely, this treat turns out not to be as difficult as expected. Just work in pieces, that's the advice.

What you need? Cucumber, tomato, carrot, parika and skewers, that's all!

4. The cucumber crocodile

And here it is, the cucumber crocodile! As you can see, this one is not spectacularly difficult at all. You can expand it even further by cutting the mouth more open and 'cutting' teeth, but it is not necessary. This crocodile is also nice, isn't it?

After making the treat you also deserve something delicious! You can make this Cucumber cocktail quickly and then sit on the couch with your legs up! You have earned your moment of me-time again.

Cucumber cocktail

A light cocktail entirely in cucumber style. Be frugal with the gin, otherwise you will get very creative with cucumber 😉 .

Ingredients per cocktail glass

  • 1 Shot gin
  • ½ Shot of butterfly blossom liqueur
  • ½ Cucumber juice (note:you need a whole cucumber for this)
  • ¾ Lime
  • ½ shot glass of basil
  • Sugar
  • 7-Up

Mix the gin, the butterfly blossom liqueur, the cucumber juice and a shot glass of 7-Up well. Squeeze a quarter of the lime, and mix the juice into your mix. Add the basil and sugar to taste. Finally, slice the rest of the lime and add it to your drink. You can also hang some discs on your glass. A nice long slice of cucumber through the glass and voila!
