Eat less sugar and live longer

More than eighty percent of prepared foods in the supermarket contain added sugars. Recent American research shows that reducing added sugars by twenty percent already affects your expected lifespan.

About eighty percent of the ready-made products that you buy in the supermarket, such as soup, tomato sauce, processed meats, breakfast cereals, contain added sugars. Products that are called 'light' often contain less fat, but on the other hand more sugar.

This month – August 2021 – a major American study was published showing that cutting back by 20 percent of sugar in these foods already has a huge impact on the lifespan of a person. In America alone, a sugar reduction could prevent 490,000 deaths from cardiovascular disease and 750,000 cases from diabetes.
