This is how you find the best bra for your breast shape

bras. One finds them terrible, the other can't live without them. This is probably because it can be quite difficult to find the right size and fit for your breasts. To help you on your way, we have listed 9 common breast shapes for you and explained what kind of bra is best for you.

1. Round breasts

The shape :Your breasts are very round and as full at the top as at the bottom

The best fit :With these types of breasts, you don't need structure, just enough support and coverage. Therefore, the best options—ranked from most coverage to less coverage—are T-shirt bras, balconette bras, and plunging bras.

2. Belly breasts

The shape :Your breasts are narrower at the top and rounder and fuller at the bottom.

The best fit :A bra with an underwire and a full cup gives your breasts the support you need and has the structure to lift your breasts slightly so that they have more volume on top.

3. Drop shaped breasts

The shape :Your breasts are round and full at the bottom and slightly less bulky at the top.

The best fit :A balconette bra with an underwire or a bra with a slight pre-shaping with a vertical seam lifts your breasts and makes them appear fuller at the top.

4. Asymmetrical breasts

The shape :One breast is (slightly) bigger than the other.

The best fit :A t-shirt bra can visually make the difference between your two bust sizes smaller. Because there are no seams and your breasts are completely covered, the volume of the larger breast will be less noticeable, so you will notice the difference less quickly. You could of course also choose to buy a pad to fill the cup of your smaller breast a little more, although that is of course not necessarily necessary.

5. Slim breasts

The shape :Your breasts are long, narrow and pointing downwards.

The best fit :An underwire bra that is not contoured is designed to give your breasts their natural shape. It gives your breasts the structure to fall in and the support to let your breasts point forward.

6. Flat breasts

The shape :Your breasts are wide on your chest with little horizontal depth.

The best fit :A push-up bra is a good option if you want more volume. Are you going for a natural look? Then opt for a non-wired triangle bra. An underwire bra probably has too wide a circumference, which can create space on the side or make your bra sit uncomfortably. Wireless bras could therefore be the perfect solution!

7. East West Breasts

The shape :Your breasts hang to the outside of your torso with your nipples pointing out and some space between your breasts on the center of your chest.

The best fit :A padded bra is ideal for creating shape. It also ensures that your breasts will point forward.

8. Close-set breasts

The shape :You have almost no space between your breasts.

The best fit :A triangle bra or a deep cut bra will work best for your breasts as they have a lower and shorter center section compared to other bras. This allows the center of the bra to lie flat on your sternum without resting on your breast tissue.

9. Wide-set breasts

The shape :You have a lot of space between your breasts

The best fit :A deep-cut bra with or without padding can help bring your breasts together and increase your cleavage.
