Heat poses no problems for healthy adults. Although it is extra important to drink enough, seek shade and protect yourself from the sun. For the elderly, pregnant women, children, athletes, travelers and event visitors, the heat can sometimes pose risks. Heat also means a chance of overheating, dehydration, exhaustion and an average of 10 percent more deaths than on a non-hot day. The Red Cross therefore calls on you to pay close attention to your fellow human beings.
