March 1 kicks off Colon Cancer Awareness Month, with this year's theme centering on 'The Smallest Room.' We rarely discuss bowel health openly, which is why we've selected a bold, taboo-breaking short film to spark essential conversations.
Each year, 13,000 people receive a colorectal cancer diagnosis, and 5,000 tragically pass away. Detecting it early significantly boosts survival odds, as medical experts consistently highlight.
This compelling 10-minute film blends monologues and sketches to explore the realities of colon cancer: the daily inconveniences, profound sadness, support in illness, and hard-won relief. It was written and directed by Niek Barendsen, a seasoned creator known for his work on Het Klokhuis and other trusted programs.
The premiere takes place tomorrow at UMC Utrecht. Check showtimes for screenings in the coming months.
