Insightful Columns on Breast Cancer by Prominent Dutch Figures

Did you know that one in eight women in the Netherlands will face breast cancer in their lifetime? Renowned Dutch authors like Kluun and Youp van 't Hek, alongside editors-in-chief from leading publications such as HP/De Tijd, J/M, and ELLE, have penned exclusive columns for tegenborstkanker.nl. Their powerful words urge support for the fight against breast cancer through donations.

On the KWF Kankerbestrijding campaign site, Kluun reflects: 'Whether we agree or not, in our society breasts symbolize femininity and female sexuality.'

Evert de Vos, editor-in-chief of J/M, shares a deeply personal perspective. Having lost his grandmother, mother, and aunt to breast cancer, he admits: 'Every time I look suspiciously at my 11-year-old daughter's chest area—when she emerges from the bathroom in a tight t-shirt or splashes into the pool in a bikini. I'm scanning for early signs of breast development, and so far, I can breathe a sigh of relief: nothing yet.' His column will appear on the campaign site throughout October 2020.
