Do your shoes feel too tight? Squeezing your feet, causing heel pain, or making your toes ache? This is common with new pairs.
Don't banish your favorite heels to the closet. As someone who's worn out many uncomfortable shoes, here's my tested method to stretch them at home—no cobbler required.

A friend shared this freezer technique years ago, and it's been a game-changer for me. No more side or back pain—I now revive shoes I thought were unwearable.
Important: This works best on leather shoes, a classic remedy for softening leather. Results may vary with other materials.

Never freeze shoes directly—protect the leather and maintain hygiene. Slide each shoe into a large, sealable plastic bag and close tightly.
Place in the freezer for 30 minutes to 1 hour—just until cold. Avoid longer to prevent damage.

Remove immediately and wear them. The cold creates an invigorating chill (perfect for summer heat), but your body warmth quickly softens the leather, molding it to your foot. You'll end up with slipper-like comfort!
Repeat as needed to maximize stretch and softness.
This hack saves me 5-10€ per pair at the cobbler. My new shoes now fit comfortably from day one.
