Why Remove Eye Makeup Before Bed?

Daily mascara, eyeliner, and powders can clog glands under your lashes if not removed properly, leading to painful styes. Plus, skip it and wake up with smudged 'panda eyes'—not the look you want.

Chamomile and Almond Oil Biphasic Eye Makeup Remover

Ingredients & Tools

6 organic chamomile flowers (from health stores or herbalists), 200 ml mineral or filtered water, 100 ml sweet almond oil, saucepan, cheesecloth or gauze, clean glass bottle, jam jar, small funnel.

Preparation

Boil 200 ml water, remove from heat, add chamomile flowers, cover, and steep until cool. Strain through cheesecloth over a jam jar.

Using a funnel, pour the chamomile infusion and almond oil into a glass bottle.

How to Use

This biphasic remover mimics store-bought versions: Shake vigorously before each use to blend phases. Soak a cotton pad generously, place on closed eye for a few seconds, then gently wipe eyelid. Repeat for the other eye.

Storage

Store in a glass bottle in your bathroom for up to two months.

Why It Works

Sweet almond oil gently dissolves makeup naturally. Chamomile calms irritation and inflammation around the eyes, making it softening and well-tolerated.

Pro Tip: Label your bottle with a ribbon-tied tag to avoid mix-ups. Source pretty glass bottles from Amazon or discount decor stores (from €1.90 for 200 ml).
