We must daily stimulate our 5 sensory memories , and we do so unequally based on our gender and personality.

But developing memory isn't just about remembering things or feelings:parallel skills like the focus , organization , the classification and the imagination will need to be energized to achieve this.

1. Focus

I isolate myself from time to time to concentrate on a precise task, instead of dispersing myself:this helps to anchor the work accomplished more firmly.

2. Store

I store and classify files, papers, objects and photos. This classification will have its parallel in the brain to classify ideas and therefore better memorize them.

3. Find mnemonics

I find mnemonic devices to remember different data.

For example, break down a telephone number into several department numbers.

We can also cultivate a particular memory by doing various appropriate exercises.

4. Working on visual memory

For visual memory, I practice speed reading by retaining only a few key words in a text that give me a guideline of its content.

Or I just learn the summary or the outline of a book or an article, which I then only have to complete.

5. Working on auditory memory

For auditory memory, I immediately memorize the information by repeating it aloud , be it a shopping list, a poem or a quote.

It only takes a few seconds for it to register for the long term.

The more you work your neurons, the more you promote your memory capacity:Scrabble, crosswords, chess, belote, reading...

Anything that develops logic and strategy and any intellectual activity in general maintains your alertness and improves your performance.

Complement these exercises with a good diet and you will retain an adolescent memory.
