Why You Should Never Take Medications with Juice

Many medications have an unpleasant taste, but resist the urge to mask it with juice.

Swallow Medications with Water
For optimal effectiveness, take your pills with a full glass of water—not fruit juice. Citrus and apple juices contain naringin, a compound that hinders absorption of key drugs for cancer, high blood pressure, and antibiotics. In fact, only half the active ingredient may be absorbed when taken with juice.

Always consult your doctor if unsure about proper medication intake.
