Winter's harsh cold often leaves lips dry and chapped. As someone who's battled this every season, I've perfected a simple homemade lip scrub that delivers soft, glamorous lips year-round.
I tested this scrub just two days ago when I woke up to dry, flaky lips despite applying balm the night before. Here's the quick, effective routine that restored my smooth pout.
With autumn winds and winter chill ahead, I tackled the issue head-on using a lip scrub routine started two days ago.
Few ingredients, minimal time, perfect results:
Prep the night before by moisturizing lips with a thick lip balm before bed, as I always do.
Mix a small amount of sugar with olive oil to form a paste. Apply to lips and massage gently. This exfoliates and removes dead skin without irritation.
Avoid rubbing too hard – I learned that the hard way, as it can damage lips and create more flakes upon rinsing.
After a 5-minute massage, rinse with warm water and a touch of soap to remove the oil.
Rinse thoroughly, then apply a generous layer of rich lip balm. Lips may feel slightly tight post-scrub – normal from the sugar exfoliation – but the balm softens and hydrates immediately.
Results: Lips are supple, naturally pink, and incredibly soft. Like a Care Bear kiss!
