Question from K.S. in Ghent:
I've always struggled with heavy dandruff, but recently it's spread to my forehead, leaving it flaky too. My GP suspects psoriasis and referred me to a dermatologist—though there's a wait. Should I be concerned?
Insights from Dermatologist Jacqueline Vink:
No need to worry. This could be psoriasis or seborrheic eczema (a common form of dermatitis). Both respond well to medicated shampoos, ointments, or lotions with corticosteroids. Psoriasis tends to be more persistent, but effective modern treatments keep it well-managed. Full cures remain challenging.
