Starting today, more than 1,400 pharmacies across the Netherlands are welcoming visitors during Diabetes Week to assess their risk of diabetes. Expert pharmacists are raising awareness about critical health risks through informative consultations.
During Diabetes Week, anyone interested can have their blood sugar measured for free at participating pharmacies. If you have diabetes, book a measurement check with your doctor promptly.
Undiagnosed diabetes? The KNMP (Royal Dutch Society for the Promotion of Pharmacy) reports that around 250,000 people in the Netherlands unknowingly live with diabetes, primarily type 2 diabetes—one of the world's fastest-growing conditions. Early symptoms like fatigue, excessive thirst, and frequent urination often go unnoticed.
