1. Women cry more often

A woman cries between 30 and 64 times a year. Men cry between 6 and 17 times a year, research shows. This is partly due to the hormone prolactin.

A crying fit lasts an average of 6 minutes for a woman. For men it is only 2 to 3 minutes.
